Badge Case #1
Or how I decided to spend all my free time hunting certification vouchers.
So, I learned fairly recently that people, like, really like certifications. Especially for the cloud and for development procedures. So, I started looking into getting them, and I found out that most of the little certificates come with these lovely badges.
So, obviously, when you think badges, you think Pokemon, right? Me too. So I simple had to catch ‘em all.
Here’s the haul I got this time:
1. AWS Developer’s Associate (November 14, 2022)
First badge that I got, in many ways the hardest.
The reception that I got for posting this on LinkedIn kinda made me want to get more, so I started the badge thing
2. Registered Scrum Master (December 17, 2022)
The one that I think has got the most traction and also a paradigm shift for me, personally.
Thanks to being a part of the Scrum community I’ve met a lot of people with incredible perspectives and thoughts.
3. Azure Data Fundamentals (January 01, 2023)
After I caught the cert bug I started hunting down vouchers. I found the Microsoft Virtual Days and this is from the first voucher that I got from them.
It was a great recap of my personal DB knowledge.
4. Azure Fundamentals (January 08, 2023)
Well, obviously once you get one of these, you have to try and complete the entire set.
This one was great for just recapping Azure, which was the first cloud platform that I used in college.
5. Azure AI Fundamentals (January 17, 2023)
This completed the pure Azure set for fundamentals.
Out of the three, the material for this one was the most interesting.
6. AWS Cloud Practitioner (January 22, 2023)
I got a voucher from the AWS Emerging Talent Community (great initiative).
This one helped remind me how far I’ve come. Acing this on like a day of study gave me such a confidence boost.
7. Cloud Digital Leader (January 30, 2023)
Very cool name, took this one just to dip my toes in the Google Cloud certification world.
It helped re-enforce how useful basic cloud concepts are. It was also the final cloud fundamental badge I needed to get from the 3 major clouds.
8. Power Platform Fundamentals (February 05, 2023)
These virtual days are a great initiative from Microsoft.
I would never have checked out the power platform if not for this cert and just checking it out has opened a whole new world for me.
So, this was the first set of badges. It was basic, but it sets up bigger things. It covered a lot of things and it gave me a lot of confidence to continue this path in the future.
